Full Moon o Sagashite is a Japanese shōjo manga and anime series by Arina Tanemura. The Full Moon manga was serialised in Ribon from January 2002 until its completion in June 2004. As the manga began to gain popularity, an anime version of the story was simultaneously made and completed before the manga's ending. Full Moon focuses on a 12-year-old girl named Mitsuki Kouyama. Mitsuki is a talented singer who dreams of becoming a pop idol, but she is afflicted with throat cancer, which is curable only through a surgery that could possibly cost her her vocal chords and her ability to sing.
