Lucy is an attractive teenage diclonius, approximately 18 years of age, and is the female protagonist of Elfen Lied, she has the odd hair style of having half her face being obscured by her hair. Like all diclonius, Lucy's most striking and easily recognizable feature is the pair of triangular, cat-ear like horns protruding from the top of her head. However, the diclonius' mutation is not merely the horns. Diclonius also possess a set of invisible hands (known as vectors) made of telekinetic energy that extend from the back. Vectors can be used to pick up objects many times the weight of the user, as well as vibrating at such a high frequency that they can slice something as thick as a stone wall in two. Lucy has four vectors with a limited range of two metres, however, she can be swift and lethal within that range, as well as being a highly effective user of projectiles.
